Hicori – Handcrafted Wixarika Jewelry

About Hicori

Hicori was born from deep respect for the Wixarika (Huichol) culture, whose ancestral beadwork—known as chaquira—tells stories rooted in nature, spirit, and sacred tradition. The Wixarika people, native to the Sierra Madre Occidental of Nayarit, Jalisco, and beyond, have carried on this vibrant artistic expression for generations. Every pattern and color in their beadwork carries deep symbolism tied to the sun, deer, peyote, corn, and the spiritual cosmos.

Each Hicori piece is handcrafted using tiny glass beads, carefully woven together using ancestral techniques. This art form isn’t just beautiful—it’s intentional, precise, and sacred. The time and patience that go into every necklace, bracelet, or pair of earrings reflect not only artistic skill but cultural devotion.

By showcasing this artistry, Hicori aims to support Indigenous artisans, share their stories, and bring their work to new audiences—while honoring the spiritual significance of each creation. Every piece is more than jewelry—it’s a piece of a living culture.
